Jorge Mascarenhas was born in Boston, Massachussets. Since the age of seven he was selling his famed elementary school comic called "Ferinhas (Little Beasts)." He grew up in three different places (Brazil, Mexico and US) and majored in illustration at California College of the Arts in San Francisco. His major artistic influences are Nordic, Post-Impressionists and Japanese artists.
